SCHOOL CURRICULUM
The Methodist Girls' High School - Wilberforce
ADMISSION TO SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL (S.S.S. 1)
The S.S.S Program is a three year program at the end of which students sit to the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE). W.A.S.S.C.E. is of a higher standard than the GCE 'O'Level. The syllabuses are more demanding and individual subjects are studied to a greater depth. Assessment will be based on continuous assessment score (30%) obtained in each of the THREE Years and W.A.S.S.C.E. Scores.
The school offers three options - ARTS, BUSINESS AND HOME ECONOMICS. Students are required to offer "5" (FIVE) "CORE" (I.E. COMPULSORY SUBJECTS AND 3 OR 4 "ELECTIVES," from one of the options given below, making a total of 7 or 8 subjects.
Based on their B.E.C.E. results and in consultation with the pupils, parents should complete the choice of subject slips. Your decision is subject to approval by the school.
